What are you talking about Mr. Gabriel. I'm having trouble understanding your point. You pick some verses out of the bible and post them but I don't see how they are related to this post. We are talking about music here. We are talking about One Faith live album. Have you heard the tracks? Do you know the group? What about the lyrics? maybe you seen the graphics. In my opinion, singing gospel music and producing gospel album is a sort of zevre. Imagine all the time, money and energy someone put to produce a gospel album. it cost thousands of dollard. Then you have to wait after service to beg people to buy the album so you can get some of that money back. I call this situation "manman pitit mare vant."

first of all i think most these guys have skills the track is well executed and sounds good. if you look at the quotes from the Bible as principles in everything we do in life.

between the unclean and the clean ... if we are doing gospel music "the clean" it must be distinguished from the common. as we can see there is a lot of talent but i dont think some of them are using it, when we are comfortable with looking like the common. i think just like the common can distinct themselves zin from carimi, system from skah shah we can do kompas from gospas. to many of these Gospas groups sound like kompas. before you even hear a word in some of these haitian pop bands you can tell who is playing even if its a new song. im just saying lets do some work so that when the world hears and the church hears that there is NO mistake that it is God's work.

In my opinion, they do sound different. When I listen to Revelation they don't sound like a specific secular bands. I can't say Revelation sound like T-vice or djakout. When I listen to Omega I can't say they sound like Revelation, t-vice or djakout. All I can say is that when I listen to Omega or Revelation is that they sound like T-vice and djakout because they play professional music. The musicians are highly skill which make them sound like profesional. The reason why you keep thinking that gospel bands sound like secular bands is because they reach their professional level. And because they reach that level it makes you think that they are like them. Gospel bands are different than secular bands because gospel bands plays for the purpose of the souls. They don't play for girls, money, fame like the secular bands do. Like brother Harry does here, It's about helping the poor, he's against violence, he's about trusting in the Lord, he's about doing for other even when they don't appreciate it, Does any of those matter to you? Since you didn't mention either of them. Which specific bands does he sounds like? Who is he immitating? Is it Jesus or Shabba?

i dont judge the musicians but their works i am concerned with. If God tells us to be different from the world do think that his anointing would resemble the world. why would God tell us to be different from the world and then bless us to look like the world. i agree that some of these musicians are blessed but some are not showing there blessing. some of them are doing things to be acceptable to the world "Commercial Music"
as far as these bands sounding like the secular bands think about this.
1 the guitar fx most of them use is not a preset it takes preparation to do, to imitate, they could have taken that energy to create something new the famous "CHORUS Guitar sound", made popular by Reginald from Systemband. there are so many other fx they could work with and make it popular from Gospel.
2 the average keyboard has more than 500 preset sounds but some of these bands go out of there way to recreate what the secular bands has created to sound like them.
i know these guys can make a difference but some of them want to be love by the world.

Now you talking. I agree with you on this one. Popularity "a la mode." Very good point. But now it raises the question. Are we not all making the same mistake? Don't we all follow the world? Don't it has to do with evolution? For instance, i'm sure you wear jeans. Do you even know where it came from? why do you wear it now? I remember soulfe divin use to play accoustic guitar back in the days now we play electric guitar. Why? What abaout femal clothes and hair? Try to see if you can understand this one Gabriel. Say that you are haitian and God give you the gospel or a message to give in the Dominican Republic. Will you go to the Dominican Replublic and start speaking creole or you will speak spanish? Same thing for haiti right now. You have the gospel and you want the haitians that do not know Christ or do not go to church to hear it. Will you put the words in classical music or will you put it in strickly church like music? My brother Gabriel, you have to speak the people's language in order to give them the word. Music is a language. It's the word that you want them to hear, not the music, therefore you have to play konpa like they do it in order for them to hear and understand you. Konpa is one of the hardest music to play. There is no school where you can learn to play konpa. And it's a blessing from God for the christians who figure-out how to play it.

konpas has many colors and we can make more. do we have to wait for the secular bands to follow them, and with faith God will not set us up to fail
1 lets not forget God, the power of tongues, God's word transcended as the disciples did what they could do. because of the disciples faith in the word God did the rest and the crowed understood them. the Bible says lift me and i will draw the people. when we try to manipulate situations we can cause more damage then help.
2 if the idea is to get the world then they should promote in the world. i dont hear them on any secular radio or see them in any secular media, they are mostly on religious programs. and even in the secular bands the are tired of sounding like each
3 some of them when they get chance to participate in secular events they become at an aw of the secular artist. some of the bands even break up and go into secular bands. for years gospel musicians have been playing in both worlds or just leaving gospel. lets look at some of our current gaspas bands now and look whats happening to some of them.
4 we have lots of talent in the churches thats why the secular bands like to snatch church musicians. we need to look at our blessing of creation and use it for God.
